Poker Players Compete At Own World Cup

    Category: Poker Online

The World Cup in South Africa may be the center of attention right now, but there is a different kind of World Cup in Las Vegas. The 41st World Series of Poker is happening in Vegas and the heat is on. Of the 57 scheduled poker game tournaments, 14 have already been decided and players and fans wait eagerly for the WSOP’s flagship Main Event, which begins on July 5.

In the biggest game that was ever played at the WSOP history was made when Michael Mizrachi went on to win more than the $1.5 million first prize for the $50,000 Poker Player’s Championship. The twist was that he ended up beating a final table that included older brother and former WSOP gold bracelet winner Robert Mizrachi. This was only the third time that these poker brothers met at the final table of a WSOP tournament.

Four online poker players will battle it out at the WSOP for top spot on the Brunson 10 Become a Legend Leaderboard. Every time a player wins cash at a WSOP event he or she earns points. The player with the most points at the end will join Doyle Brunson’s team.

The WSOP is one of the most prestigious poker tournaments in the world. And it’s not just the prize money or the gold bracelet that players are fighting for, it’s the pride and the honor of being the best poker player in the world, and that’s what’s more important to many passionate poker players.
